Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By installing or using DRILL/CALC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the application.

2. Purpose of the App

DRILL/CALC is an engineering aid that provides:

Drilling & oilfield engineering calculators: hydrostatic pressure, ECD, kill mud weight, hole & annulus volume, string displacement, mud weight mixing, TVD (three methods), pump flow rate, unit converter, brine calculator, and brine reference table.
MICA AI assistant — an AI chatbot powered by Llama 3.3 70B (via Groq) specialised in oilfield engineering. MICA can answer technical questions, explain formulas, create drilling recaps, and summarise text.
Offline Knowledge Packs — bundled JSON knowledge bases that extend MICA's answers without an internet connection.

The App is provided as a productivity tool for qualified petroleum engineering professionals.

3. No warranty — calculators

The App is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Calculations rely on industry-standard formulas and the data you enter; results must always be verified by a qualified engineer before being used in any operational decision.

3a. No warranty — AI responses

MICA AI responses are generated by a large language model and are provided for informational and productivity purposes only. AI-generated content may contain errors, outdated information, or imprecise formulas. MICA responses must never be used as the sole basis for any operational or safety-critical decision. Always cross-check with authoritative engineering references and qualified personnel.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ojana DEV and the developer shall NOT be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to operational losses, well-control incidents, equipment damage, or personal injury.

5. Professional responsibility

You acknowledge that drilling operations are safety-critical. You are solely responsible for cross-checking every result against company procedures, regulatory requirements, and the judgment of qualified personnel on site.

6. Intellectual property

The App, its source code, branding, icons, and design are the exclusive property of Ojana DEV. Reverse engineering, redistribution, or commercial resale is prohibited without written permission.

7. Updates

We may release updates that add, modify, or remove features. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the changes.

8. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. These terms remain in effect for any prior use.

9. Governing terms

Any dispute arising from the use of the App shall be resolved amicably with the developer through the contact channels provided in the App and on this website.
